Psycho

Info on Alfred Hitchcock:

Hitchcock is regarded as one of filmmaking’s lead pioneers of the past. Without him, film would be a much different experience today. His filming style led to the audience feeling more engaged in the plot because the camera movement seemed more human. Hitchcock was a master of suspense and was able to adeptly effect the emotion and tension which was felt by the audience through twists, thrills, and cinematic decoys. He was also able to become a cultural icon due to his one cameo in each movie which he directed.

The Plot so Far:

The movie begins with a scene involving Marion Crane and her boyfriend. The two discuss the possibility of marriage, but Crane’s boyfriend dismisses this because the two do not have the money which would be necessary.

While at work later that day, Crane is confronted by a rich man who drops hints that he may be slightly less that lawful with his money. The man wishes to pay forty-thousand dollars cash for his purchase. Crane tells her boss that she wishes to go home early due to a headache and she is told to drop by the bank to deposit the large amount of cash. Crane goes home and packs her belongings, intending to steal the forty-thousand dollars.

Crane becomes frantic after her employer sees her driving around town later that day. Due to this, she ends up driving until she is forced to pull over to sleep. After being woken up by a cop, Crane believes she could be tailed for being suspicious. She goes to a car dealership and exchanges her car for another while paying seven hundred dollars in cash. All of this time, she is still being trailed by a cop.

While crane is driving on the highway, a massive storm starts. She pulls off the highway and decides to stay at the Bates Motel for the night.

My Hopes and Expectations

I have always wanted to know how both television shows, movies, and music are made. Seeing as how I took Digital Audio last year, I thought that taking TV Production this year was a good idea. Through this course I hope to accomplish something cool. It would be boring to just learn about how a movie set works; I would rather do something awesome with what I learn. By the end of the semester, I want to be able to make a video from scratch. That's the skill that I hope to gain by the end of this class.
